XO Wave is comprised of two components, the user interface (also
called the GUI) and the audio engine (also named The Audio Engine menu allows you to adjust settings that are specific to the audio engine. Unless you are attempting to setup a multi-machine network, with audio engines and GUIs running on separate machines, you will never need to use the Advanced Settings... and probably won't ever need Reconnect or Disconnect, either. Hardware SettingsThis option opens the Hardware Settings window where you can select your latency settings, sound device, and dither settings. Audio EngineThis sub-menu allows you to select the audio engine to use for audio playback. XOengine is available in all editions of XO Wave, and uses single-precision arithmetic. XO Wave Pro users may choose between XOengine and the higher-resolution XOengine-double. XOengine-double is not available in XO Wave Open; XO Wave Free users must upgrade to use it.
