XO Wave: Mix Window

Important Notice: XO Wave will be discontinued in the next few months as we prepare to bring you the next generation Digital Audio Workstation. XO Wave: Mix Window

XO Wave's Mix window is the place to finish off or tweak a mix. Most of the functionality offered here is also available in the Edit window, but the Mix window is laid out like a traditional mixer, giving you easy access to each track's volume and pan controls as well as direct access to every effect's most important parameters.

1: Transport Controls (top)

The Transport Area duplicates the controls available in the Transport window.

2: Channel Strip Area (center)

This area shows a "channel strip" for each track. The strip starts with the first effect on that track at the top, and goes through each effect working down in order. At the bottom of the channel strip is an area that lets you control volume, mute, solo, routing, and so on. Note that if you have multiple volume effects on a single track, the volume control at the bottom of the Channel Strip view is always the last volume effect in the channel.

At the very bottom of each channel strip is a track label and arrow. The label can be used to rename the track, by double-clicking, or to reorder tracks, by clicking and dragging the label left or right. You can also hide channel strips you are not working with by clicking on the arrow next to the track's name.

3: Effect Editing Area (bottom right)

This area can be used for editing effects. Clicking on an effect's Edit button ( EditEffect

) in the Channel Strip Area brings up effect controls here. The top of this area also contains several buttons for creating and deleting effects, as well as editing the effect in a separate window (rather than within the Mix window).

4: Help Area (bottom left)

The Help area provides contextual help. For information about a button or object, simply point the mouse at it and check the help area for tips about the item being pointed to, and how to use it.
